Ruinart Brut French Champagne 750mL

$175.00 each

Description

Since its foundation in 1729, excellence and know-how are at the heart of the first Champagne Maison. Chardonnay is the very soul of Ruinart. The grape, mainly harvested from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims terroirs, brings elegance, purity and aromatic freshness to all its cuvées. The balance between its roots and the audacity of its commitments has turned it into an everlasting modern and contemporary Maison.
"R" de Ruinart Brut is the Original Expression of the Ruinart Taste. The blend is made up with 40 % Chardonnay, 49 % Pinot Noir and 11% Meunier.
A vibrant, clear yellow colour with golden reflections. Good brilliance with sustained effervescence and a very persistent foam. At first the nose is delicate, fresh and fruity, filled with white-fleshed fruits (pears, Bosc apples),
apricots, as well as hazelnuts and fresh almonds. Several floral and spicy notes add an extra hint of complexity. The second nose reveals superb olfactory intensity on a more biscuity, brioche-like base. Frank and direct attack on the palate. A balanced wine, rounded and full-bodied, with an attack scented with ripe fruits (greengages and nectarines). The finish is long, the well-integrated dosage giving way to the characteristic freshness of the Chardonnay which makes up most of the blend.

Ruinart Brut sparkles in chestnuts, yellows and golds. First impressions reveal subtle fruity notes of reinette apples and apricots, along with fresh almonds and hazelnuts. Hints of elderflower and coriander seed add a touch of complexity. Second impressions create room for intense aromas of brioche and biscuit. Sweet notes of golden fruit, plum tarts and ripe drupes develop in the mouth. The palate is enveloped in harmonious and persistent roundness. The finale reveals the distinctive freshness of chardonnay.
